A personal note for clients and colleagues who've asked where I went.

Max Makhnyk, CFP®

A quick note: Averton Wealth is still finishing a few things before I can officially take on clients, and I expect that to wrap up in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, this page is just information. It's not an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy or sell any security, engage in any investment strategy, or become a client of mine or any firm, and nothing here should be read as investment, legal, or tax advice.

About Max

I'm Max Makhnyk, CFP®. For several years I worked in financial services at a regional credit union, and many of you know me from that time. I'm forever grateful for those years and the people I worked with. I helped hundreds of couples and individuals build financial plans that got them to retirement, set up income sources that gave them extra spending money for the vacations they always wanted to take, and helped widows make sense of their finances and get their late spouse's accounts in order.

I've since left to start something of my own, with a sharp focus on people five years before or after retirement, and on widows and widowers. Those were the people I felt like I made the biggest difference for, and I want to lean into that even further. Helping someone who was completely lost about entering retirement, or had no idea what to do the day after they retired, and walking alongside them until they had a clear path forward, was genuinely the best part of the job. I also saw, more than once, how quickly life can turn when someone loses a spouse. I wanted to make sure those clients were never taken advantage of, and that they received the care and treatment that I would provide for my own parents. That's why I started Averton Wealth Management.

A handful of people have reached out asking about the move, so I put this page together to give a straight answer instead of a guess.

If we've worked together before

If you knew me from the credit union and have been wondering where I went, this is it. I'm grateful for the years and the relationships from that chapter, and I'd genuinely love to stay in touch as this next one unfolds.
